The Safe Seat Project

Children ages 0-8 are legally required to sit in car seats of booster seats while in a vehicle. Foster parents are often responsible for purchasing these seats when they welcome foster children into their home. This can be an expensive cost!

To help offset this expense and ensure that children in foster care are using safe, accident-free car seats, the Safe Seat Project provides an Amazon or Target gift card to foster parents who need to purchase a car seat or booster seat for a child entering foster care.

If you’re a foster parent in Ingham County and have a car seat need for a new placement (this program does not apply to those in the licensing process), we’re here to help! Please fill out the form below and someone will be in contact with you within 24 hours (or sooner!).

Note: We frequently receive requests from foster homes outside of Ingham County. While we wish that we could help every county in Michigan, our mission is currently focused on serving those in Ingham County. If you are not licensed in Ingham County, please look within your county for resources or other foster closets!
